New Year's Resolution Card

I don't usually make New Year's Resolutions. Well, I tried once but as with many such Self Improvement plans it was ridiculously over-ambitious matched in scope only by its spectacular unrealisticality (is that a word?). Slumped in a welter of self-pity, self-loathing, self-disgust and every other miserably negative self attribution I decided that it was a recipe where you set yourself up for failure in advance. Thenceforth, I vowed, my only New Year's Resolution would be not to make any.

So what's changed? Nothing really. Yet everything needs to alter. Ok, that's too extreme already. SOME things need to change.

Mostly practical things. To realize a few dreams. But that takes a lot of little practical steps.

For this reason I'm choosing The Star from the fabulous Alice Tarot to symbolize 2015. To give me hope, as a reminder to keep hoping, and as a guiding dreamscape. Here we see Alice's sister drifting off into a reverie over a book. That's very "me" already. Maybe not the bonnet but it would be if I had one.
